Join a mission-driven team advancing domestic radioisotope production for healthcare, scientific research, aerospace, industry, and national defense applications. In this high-impact role, you will lead complex projects spanning facility development, commissioning, operational readiness, infrastructure deployment, and regulatory compliance. Working across engineering, operations, radiological protection, supply chain, and business functions, you will translate strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable results. You will oversee schedules, budgets, resources, contractors, and project risks while helping teams navigate technical complexity and evolving requirements. This opportunity is ideal for a proactive, hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, brings clarity to ambiguity, and takes ownership from planning through delivery. Your work will help build scalable domestic isotope production capabilities with meaningful real-world impact.
Lead strategic projects supporting radioisotope production facilities, including development, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness. Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, budgets, resource plans, performance metrics, and execution strategies. Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders to keep projects aligned and on track. Manage project scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, proactively identifying obstacles and implementing effective mitigation plans. Align technical, operational, regulatory, and business priorities to achieve project objectives and critical milestones. Oversee contractor performance, procurement activities, material sourcing, equipment installation, and project deliverables. Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews, and executive reporting, communicating status, key decisions, emerging risks, and recommended actions. Support permitting and licensing activities, facility modifications, infrastructure upgrades, and other projects essential to production capabilities. Establish and maintain project controls, documentation, action tracking, configuration management, and change management processes. Contribute to technical strategy, execution planning, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen project delivery. Ensure all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable quality standards, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures. Identify creative solutions to complex, open-ended challenges while maintaining strong judgment, accountability, and attention to detail. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Materials Science, Chemistry, Nuclear Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline. At least five years of project management experience leading complex technical, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or operational projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects involving uncertainty, complex dependencies, and cross-functional coordination. Proven experience developing and managing project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and performance metrics. Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams across technical, operational, regulatory, and business functions. Working knowledge of project management methodologies, project controls, risk management, and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, or similar platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with technical teams, contractors, suppliers, and executive leadership. Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in dynamic environments. A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently, learn quickly, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of outcomes. Comfort operating in a fast-paced, iterative environment where priorities may evolve and solutions are not always predefined. A collaborative, humble, and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to receive feedback, challenge conventional approaches, and develop innovative solutions. Strong attention to detail, procedural discipline, and sound judgment when working in regulated or safety-sensitive environments. Preferred qualifications: Experience in nuclear energy, radioisotope production, national laboratories, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defense, energy, or another highly regulated industry. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Experience with facility startup, commissioning, operational readiness, infrastructure development, capital projects, or facility upgrades. Familiarity with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Department of Energy (DOE), national laboratories, or other government stakeholders. Experience managing contractors, procurement, equipment installations, or complex facility modification projects. Knowledge of quality assurance, configuration management, permitting, and regulatory compliance processes. Experience supporting radioactive material handling facilities, nuclear laboratories, hot cell operations, or radiological facilities. Ability to write compelling, clear, and professional documentation and communicate complex information in an accessible way.
