Experience designing, building, testing, and maintaining production-grade backend software or services. Proven ability to own engineering projects through multiple stages of the software development lifecycle, from technical design to production delivery. Experience designing or integrating APIs, services, and other components within distributed or interconnected production systems. Strong understanding of software engineering practices, including code reviews, automated testing, debugging, and production support. Ability to make sound technical decisions that balance security, reliability, maintainability, and customer experience. Preferred: Familiarity with identity and access management concepts and standards such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML. Preferred: Experience working in medium-to-large engineering organizations or with systems spanning multiple engineering teams. Preferred: Experience contributing to frontend development in addition to backend engineering. Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools in professional engineering workflows. Strong communication skills, the ability to explain technical decisions and outcomes clearly, and a willingness to learn unfamiliar technical domains. A proactive, collaborative mindset and the motivation to develop deep technical expertise over time. Benefits Base salary: $166,900–$242,400 per year for the United States remote position.
