Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Staff Gen AI Application Engineer based in the United States. Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Generative AI Application Engineer to drive the development of next-generation enterprise software using advanced AI-powered coding tools and agentic workflows. In this role, you will leverage Claude Code and generative AI technologies to design, build, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. You will help modernize legacy systems, accelerate software prototyping, and support strategic decisions about building custom solutions versus adopting commercial SaaS platforms. Working across engineering, product, and business teams, you will translate complex requirements into robust architectures, intuitive user experiences, and reliable production-ready applications. You will also establish reusable development patterns, strengthen engineering standards, and promote the effective adoption of AI-assisted software development across the organization. This opportunity is ideal for a technically strong, forward-thinking engineer passionate about innovation, automation, application security, and transforming enterprise software delivery. The position offers a remote work option within the United States and the opportunity to influence how generative AI reshapes modern engineering practices.
Architect AI-powered applications: Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure software solutions from the ground up using Claude Code and agentic development workflows. Modernize legacy systems: Evaluate existing applications, identify functional and technical requirements, and develop high-performance replacement solutions using generative AI development tools. Develop integrated software solutions: Build complex, modular applications, including modern user interfaces, robust APIs, cloud-native services, and web experiences that meet enterprise requirements. Maintain and improve AI-generated code: Support existing codebases, refine generated code, enhance application functionality, and continuously improve deployment pipelines and software reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues: Investigate application performance, data handling, and security problems, identifying defects in AI-generated code and implementing corrective prompts or structural code improvements. Collaborate with business and product teams: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into effective technical designs, agentic prompts, and application specifications. Accelerate prototyping and innovation: Support build-versus-buy decisions by rapidly developing and deploying minimum viable products (MVPs) to evaluate internal development capabilities against commercial SaaS solutions. Optimize AI-assisted development workflows: Use advanced context management, automated validation loops, and agentic frameworks to improve development speed, code quality, and engineering efficiency. Establish technical documentation and standards: Create technical specifications, architectural blueprints, repository documentation, and structured engineering resources that support AI-assisted development and future code iterations. Maintain security and compliance: Review AI-generated designs and code changes to ensure adherence to established engineering standards, application security requirements, and organizational safety and security guardrails. Promote knowledge sharing and team development: Mentor colleagues, share effective Claude Code techniques, document successful prompting patterns, and help teams adopt scalable, repeatable AI-assisted development practices. Support enterprise transformation: Contribute to initiatives that modernize software delivery, improve operational efficiency, and expand the practical use of generative AI across enterprise engineering. Requirements Education and professional experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with at least five years of professional experience, an associate degree with at least eight years of experience, or a high school diploma with at least ten years of experience. A minimum of five years of professional software engineering experience is required. Military experience may be considered equivalent to professional experience. Generative AI and agentic development: Strong interest in, and preferably hands-on experience with, AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code, agentic software development frameworks, large language models, and emerging generative AI technologies. Software architecture and engineering: Demonstrated ability to understand complex software architectures, solve systemic code challenges, and design modular, maintainable, and production-ready applications. Application development expertise: Working knowledge of modern application development, including user interface design, API development, data layers, cloud architectures, and web technologies. Production deployment experience: Experience deploying, scaling, supporting, and maintaining new software applications in enterprise environments, with a focus on reliability and operational stability. Cloud and development environments: Familiarity with modern developer environments, cloud infrastructure, and the tools and processes required to build and operate cloud-native applications. DevOps and version control: Experience with Git-based development workflows, version control management, automated testing, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, and deployment automation. Application security: Strong awareness of secure coding practices, application security controls, prompt defense, and methods for validating AI-generated code against established engineering standards. Testing and quality assurance: Ability to implement automated validation, monitor system telemetry, investigate defects, and ensure software meets functional, performance, reliability, and security expectations. Analytical and problem-solving skills: Excellent critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to evaluate technical information, identify root causes, anticipate obstacles, and develop effective solutions in a rapidly evolving environment. Technical communication: Ability to produce clear technical specifications, architecture documentation, and engineering guidance while communicating complex concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration and leadership: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, incorporate feedback from colleagues and AI development agents, and mentor other engineers. Customer-focused mindset: Commitment to understanding end-user needs and delivering intuitive, accessible, and reliable user experiences through thoughtful application design and user interface development. Adaptability and continuous learning: Enthusiasm for emerging technologies, willingness to experiment with new development methods, openness to feedback, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. Work authorization: Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. Employment visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future. Export control eligibility: Because the role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, candidates must be able to establish eligible U.S. Person status, such as U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or qualifying asylee or refugee status. Benefits Competitive annual base salary: $143,000–$190,000 USD, depending on relevant experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Annual incentive opportunity: Eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus based on a percentage of base salary, subject to the applicable compensation plan. Remote work flexibility: Fully remote position, with work performed within the United States and subject to applicable work location requirements. Comprehensive healthcare coverage: Medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits. Employee wellness resources: Access to health coaching and an Employee Assistance Program offering confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Retirement savings: Access to a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer matching contributions and additional company retirement contributions, along with financial planning resources. Paid time off: Vacation and sick leave to support work-life balance and personal well-being. Family support benefits: Adoption assistance and paid parental leave. Insurance protection: Disability insurance and life insurance coverage. Learning and development: Tuition assistance and opportunities for continued professional growth. Innovative technical environment: Opportunities to work with advanced generative AI tools, agentic coding workflows, cloud-native technologies, and enterprise-scale software modernization initiatives. Relocation assistance: Not available for this position.
