The programme supports participants to identify risks, prioritize impacts, strengthen due diligence, and build a practical Action Plan. In addition, it connects companies with peers, UN partners, and experts across country, regional, and global tracks. Program Location: Global programme with in-country tracks in the listed countries and regional tracks (Africa, Asia, Latin America) plus a Global track for companies without a Country Network. Award Provider: UN Global Compact Funding/Benefits: A practical Action Plan to address salient human rights and labour rights risks, prioritized risk assessments, due diligence guidance, stakeholder engagement and remedy approaches, peer learning, and a certificate of completion. About the Course The UN Global Compact Business & Human Rights Accelerator is designed for companies that want to move from commitment to implementation. Specifically, the programme focuses on human rights due diligence, risk prioritization, and action planning aligned with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Over three months, participants work through practical steps that can help strengthen company strategy and operations. As a result, companies can build a clearer approach to managing human rights and labour rights risks across their value chains. Who Should Apply This programme is for companies that meet the following conditions:
They are participants of the UN Global Compact or are willing to join. They are currently engaged with a Global Compact Country Network in their region or are willing to join. They have a foundational understanding of human rights and labour rights and are ready to put that knowledge into practice. They are willing to identify their human rights risks and impacts and scope a core area of the value chain for focus.
Course Structure
The programme includes practical work on human rights due diligence, risk and impact prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and remedy approaches. Participants are also expected to develop and submit an Action Plan, complete mandatory programme requirements, appoint two working-level representatives, appoint one executive-level representative, and apply programme outcomes across the company’s strategy and operations.
