Overview
The University of Twente Scholarship supports excellent non-EU/EEA students admitted to eligible University of Twente master's programmes starting in September 2027.
Complete scholarship details
UTS provides €3,000 to €22,000 for one year as a contribution toward study-related costs. The university explicitly states that UTS is not a full scholarship and does not pay tuition or other costs directly. For eligible two-year master's programmes, a second-year amount equal to the first-year award can be continued if the published academic-progress requirements are met.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must be non-EU/EEA students, not Dutch or current University of Twente students, and must have received conditional or final admission to an eligible University of Twente master's programme starting in academic year 2027/2028. Applicants need a student number, must meet the university's English-language and visa requirements where applicable, must not be eligible for a Dutch study loan, and should rank among the top 5–10% of their graduating class. ITC master's programmes and pre-master programmes are excluded.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Secure admission to an eligible master's programme first; the scholarship application requires a University of Twente student number.
- Budget for remaining tuition and living costs because UTS is not a full scholarship.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Verified against the University of Twente's current 2027/28 scholarship page. The application form opens 15 October 2026 at 09:00 CET and closes 1 April 2027 at 16:00 CET, normalized to 15:00 UTC. The university explicitly says this is not a full scholarship.
