This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer New Markets - EU based in United States. This is a senior engineering role focused on building and scaling mission-critical brokerage technology for international markets. You’ll design and maintain systems that support large-scale financial activity across multiple markets, currencies, and regulatory environments. The role combines backend and full-stack engineering with architecture, operational reliability, and cross-functional technical leadership. You’ll contribute to middle- and back-office systems, gRPC microservices, internal tools, and integrations with external financial technology providers. Working with globally distributed engineering teams, you’ll help evolve core systems to support international expansion and new market requirements. You’ll also play an important role in incident management, engineering mentorship, and regional technical initiatives. This opportunity is suited to an autonomous engineer who enjoys complex financial systems, distributed environments, and high-impact technical challenges.

Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and mission-critical brokerage systems supporting international markets. Develop and enhance middle- and back-office systems, including gRPC-based microservices, React interfaces for internal administration and API developers, and integrations with third-party vendors. Collaborate with core engineering teams to evolve foundational frameworks and enable support for multiple languages, currencies, markets, and regional requirements. Work closely with engineering leaders and technical teams across different regions through synchronous and asynchronous collaboration. Investigate and resolve production incidents, software defects, and performance issues while maintaining system integrity and reliability. Serve as an engineering and operational reliability lead during regional business hours, including acting as incident commander when required. Contribute to proactive 24x7 system stability through monitoring, troubleshooting, reliability improvements, and operational best practices. Work with global teams, vendors, regulators, and internal stakeholders to develop scalable solutions that address international and regulatory requirements. Support regional engineering initiatives, including recruitment, mentoring, cross-functional projects, and knowledge sharing. Participate in on-call rotations or provide additional engineering support for critical projects when required. Requirements Strong professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of designing and building scalable applications and distributed systems. Strong proficiency in Go or a comparable backend programming language, with expertise in robust software architecture. Solid computer science fundamentals and demonstrated experience making architectural and technical design decisions. Experience with event-driven architecture and scalable backend systems. Strong problem-solving abilities combined with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot production incidents and confidently lead incident response as an incident commander. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, business, regulatory, and vendor stakeholders. Ability to work independently within a fully remote and globally distributed organization while remaining effective in a fast-paced environment. Strategic mindset with the ability to connect technical decisions to broader business objectives. Experience working with global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Experience in financial services, fintech, online trading platforms, or brokerage technology is highly valued. Knowledge of complex financial systems, including transaction processing, trade lifecycle management, settlement, and double-entry accounting, is advantageous. Experience with online trading systems, including order management, execution, market data, and real-time trade processing, is a plus. Familiarity with financial APIs, market data integrations, multi-currency systems, and high-availability financial applications is beneficial. Familiarity with financial-market regulatory requirements and domain-driven design is advantageous. Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar technologies is a plus.
