Where Europe decides, alliances convene, and young voices meet the world.

Few cities sit this close to the decisions that shape our world. Brussels is at the heart of Europe. Home to NATO Headquarters & European Union Headquarters, a place where diplomacy is not an abstract idea but the work carried out every day in its streets, embassies, and assembly halls.

Here the European Commission sets policy, the Council of the European Union brings member states to the table, and the European Parliament gives voice to hundreds of millions of citizens. A short distance away, NATO Headquarters anchors transatlantic security cooperation. Alongside them, one of the largest diplomatic communities in the world works in the city: ambassadors, international organisations, think tanks, and civil society groups all shaping the global agenda from one city.

Beyond its institutions, Brussels is a city of grand squares, Art Nouveau façades, and neighbourhoods where many languages and cultures meet. For young leaders, it offers an experience that goes past the convention itself: the chance to stand where international cooperation happens, understand how it works, and build connections with peers from every corner of the world.

Come to Brussels. Experience diplomacy where it happens, and find your place in the conversation.

Step Inside Europe

Go beyond the conversation and experience the world of European cooperation.

There are places you read about.

There are places you learn about.

And then there are places you get the opportunity to experience for yourself.

As part of your Youth Diplomacy Convention 2027 experience, your journey takes you closer to the European Union, one of the world’s most influential examples of countries choosing cooperation over borders and shared purpose over isolation.

Brussels offers a rare perspective for young people with ambitions that extend beyond their own communities. Here, Europe comes together through institutions, ideas, languages, cultures, and generations, creating a unique environment for understanding how cooperation can operate at an international scale.
