The University of the Philippines hosted a reception program for the delegates of the 2026 UNESCO-UNITWIN International Conference on Quality Teacher Education, Oct. 13 at the Executive House, UP Diliman.

The event served as an opportunity for UP officials to interact with university leaders and scholars from Korea National University of Education, Mahidol University-Thailand, Khon Kaen University-Thailand, Vietnam National University, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, and Souphanouvong University-Laos. They were participants in the said conference, which was hosted by UP, Oct. 12-13.

UP President Angelo Jimenez said sharing a meal and exchanging stories strengthen relationships and international academic partnerships as he welcomed the delegates.

KNUE-UNESCO UNITWIN Programme Director Young-Hoon Kim talked about how Korea became a developed country through education and international collaboration.

Members of the UP National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development performed the traditional Tinikling dance and also serenaded the delegates during the program.

In her closing message, UP NISMED Director Sheryl Lyn Monterola thanked the host and organizers, as well as the participants of the international conference and the reception program.
