Overview
Citizens of Ethiopia can apply for Czech Government development scholarships for selected full-time English-taught follow-up master’s and doctoral programmes at Czech public universities for 2027–2028. Online applications are due 30 September 2026.
Complete scholarship details
The Czech Government’s foreign development cooperation scholarship call supports the standard duration of selected full-time English-taught follow-up master’s and doctoral programmes. Current support is CZK 16,000 per month for follow-up master’s students and CZK 24,960 per month for doctoral students. Tuition fees are paid by the Czech Government on behalf of scholarship holders, and health care is provided under the programme’s published Ministry of Health conditions. Accommodation, meals and public transport are paid by the scholarship holder from the stipend; travel to and from the Czech Republic is not reimbursed by the Ministry of Education.
Eligibility requirements
The 2027–2028 call explicitly includes citizens of Ethiopia. Applicants for a follow-up master’s scholarship must have completed a bachelor’s degree; doctoral applicants must have completed a master’s degree. Applicants for English-taught study must complete the online English-language test and the general academic aptitude test. Czech citizens, EU citizens and other foreign nationals with permanent residence in the Czech Republic are not eligible under this programme. The current call page also states that eligible nationals applying under this call must not be enrolled at a Czech university at the time they submit the application.
Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Complete both compulsory online tests by the application deadline.
- Review the binding August 2026 government scholarship guidelines before submitting.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
The current official Study in Czechia call (ID 455) and Czech Ministry of Education page explicitly list Ethiopia for academic year 2027/2028 and give a 30 September 2026 application deadline. The August 2026 binding guidelines confirm current monthly scholarship amounts and that travel is not reimbursed. No closing clock time or timezone is stated, so no UTC deadline timestamp was invented; deadline_date only is stored. Repository title and source searches found no matching Ethiopia record before batching.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
