Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Systems Developer based in India. The Senior Systems Developer will serve as a senior technical expert for the Clarity Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) platform, leading complex development, configuration, integration, and production support activities. In this role, you will take ownership of critical technical issues, design robust application enhancements, and ensure the stability, performance, and reliability of enterprise systems. You will leverage advanced skills in GEL scripting, NSQL, SQL, XOG, REST APIs, and XML to develop integrations, automate workflows, and resolve complex application challenges. Working closely with infrastructure teams, product vendors, and business stakeholders, you will lead technical investigations, upgrades, patching, and release activities. You will also establish development standards, strengthen operational controls, and ensure compliance with security policies, change-management procedures, and audit requirements. Beyond hands-on development, you will mentor fellow developers and administrators, share technical knowledge, and help reduce recurring incidents through continuous improvement. This fully remote opportunity within India offers a senior technical leadership role in an enterprise application environment, with working hours from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST.

Provide Level 3 (L3) technical support for the Clarity PPM platform, acting as the primary technical escalation point for complex production incidents and application-related problems. Investigate, diagnose, and resolve advanced issues involving application configuration, custom code, data integrity, reports, interfaces, integrations, workflows, and system performance. Lead root cause analysis for critical, recurring, or technically complex production incidents, implementing corrective and preventive measures to minimize repeat issues. Design, develop, configure, test, and deploy technical enhancements and solutions for Clarity PPM based on functional and business requirements. Develop, maintain, and optimize GEL scripts, NSQL queries, SQL statements, XOG integrations, REST APIs, XML interfaces, web services, reports, portlets, workflows, processes, and custom application components. Translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, architecture designs, implementation plans, and maintainable development solutions. Review technical designs and development deliverables produced by other team members, ensuring quality, consistency, performance, and adherence to established standards. Support application services, batch processing, scheduled jobs, automated file transfers, and integrations, investigating failures and coordinating recovery activities. Lead or support technical activities associated with Clarity upgrades, patches, hot fixes, platform changes, and production releases. Coordinate with Broadcom on product defects, vendor-supported fixes, technical escalations, and patch-related issues. Investigate application-layer issues involving database interactions, application servers, and middleware, collaborating with infrastructure, database administration, and other technical teams when issues extend beyond the application's scope. Conduct proactive application performance analysis, identify potential bottlenecks, recommend optimization strategies, and contribute to application monitoring and capacity-related assessments. Lead or support unit testing, integration testing, defect resolution, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production validation activities. Coordinate production deployments and maintain implementation instructions, rollback plans, technical evidence, validation results, and change records. Ensure all production changes comply with SOX controls, segregation-of-duties requirements, security standards, and approved change-management processes. Support SOX audits, technical control testing, evidence requests, remediation activities, and other compliance-related initiatives. Maintain technical runbooks, system diagrams, Known Error Database (KEDB) entries, troubleshooting guides, and other operational documentation. Participate in structured knowledge-transfer activities with the incumbent managed service provider, ensuring critical technical knowledge is captured and retained internally. Mentor Developer II team members and junior application administrators, providing technical guidance, reviewing solutions, and supporting the development of broader team capabilities. Contribute to disaster recovery planning, application restoration procedures, simulated disaster recovery exercises, and recovery validation. Participate in the team's 16x5 operational support model and the Priority 1/Priority 2 (P1/P2) on-call rotation. Lead or support planned weekend upgrades, patches, releases, deployments, and maintenance activities to maintain application reliability and operational continuity. Requirements: Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, with at least 5 years of professional software development experience; alternatively, hold an advanced degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Bring significant experience developing, configuring, administering, and supporting enterprise business applications in production environments. Demonstrate advanced hands-on expertise in Clarity PPM technical development, application configuration, administration, and Level 3 production support. Possess advanced proficiency in GEL scripting, NSQL, and SQL for complex development, data analysis, troubleshooting, and application support. Have strong experience with XOG, REST APIs, XML, web services, and enterprise application integrations. Demonstrate advanced experience developing and maintaining Clarity custom content, including reports, portlets, workflows, processes, views, and customer-specific functionality. Be capable of troubleshooting complex Clarity production issues involving application configuration, custom code, integrations, batch processing, data discrepancies, and performance bottlenecks. Possess strong working knowledge of relational databases, particularly Oracle and/or SQL Server, with the ability to perform application-level database analysis and troubleshooting. Have working knowledge of Linux and Apache Tomcat sufficient to investigate application-layer issues and collaborate effectively with infrastructure and middleware teams. Demonstrate experience leading or supporting application upgrades, patches, hot fixes, production deployments, rollback planning, and post-deployment validation. Have experience coordinating technical escalations, product defects, and patch-related issues with external software vendors, preferably Broadcom. Understand controlled production environments, including SOX compliance, segregation of duties, access restrictions, formal change management, and audit evidence requirements. Demonstrate strong root cause analysis skills and the ability to develop sustainable solutions that improve platform stability and reduce recurring incidents. Possess excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Have experience reviewing technical deliverables, establishing development standards, mentoring developers, and transferring technical knowledge across support teams. Be capable of managing multiple priorities, taking ownership of critical incidents, and delivering high-quality technical solutions within established timelines. Be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed technical teams and external vendors. Be available to work from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM IST , participate in extended-hours operations, support planned weekend maintenance, and join the P1/P2 on-call rotation as required.
