This role is essential to maintaining accurate, organized, and up-to-date financial records while ensuring clients receive reliable and timely support. You will handle weekly bookkeeping, reconcile accounts, and prepare month-end reports across a portfolio of clients with varying needs. Working with cloud-based accounting platforms and digital collaboration tools, you will contribute to efficient workflows and continuous process improvement. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented professional who enjoys solving problems, embracing technology, and working collaboratively in a fast-growing, inclusive team.

Manage weekly bookkeeping: Maintain accurate financial records using both accrual and cash accounting methods, according to each client's requirements. Maintain client accounts: Ensure clients' books are complete, organized, current, and accurate through consistent transaction recording and account management. Perform bank reconciliations: Reconcile bank accounts and clearing accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure financial transactions are properly recorded. Prepare month-end reports: Compile and review financial information to support accurate reporting and provide clients with timely insights into their accounts. Support clients: Respond to bookkeeping-related questions clearly and professionally, helping clients understand their financial records and resolve issues. Manage multiple client portfolios: Prioritize competing deadlines, track tasks effectively, and maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Use and optimize technology: Work with cloud-based accounting and document-management platforms, identify workflow improvements, and contribute to automation and operational efficiency. Collaborate with the team: Communicate proactively with colleagues, share ideas, and help improve internal processes and the overall client experience. Requirements: At least five years of bookkeeping experience in a fast-paced professional environment. Strong understanding of accrual accounting, cash-basis bookkeeping, payroll, debits and credits, clearing accounts, and bank reconciliations. Comprehensive knowledge of accounting systems and processes, including invoicing, accounts payable, transaction recording, and applicable tax rates. Practical experience with Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO). Familiarity with tools such as Hubdoc and Dext is an advantage. Experience using task and workflow management platforms such as Karbon, ClickUp, Monday.com, or Asana. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain bookkeeping matters clearly and build positive client relationships. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously. A proactive, self-directed approach and the ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with colleagues. Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new software, adopt automation tools, and improve existing workflows. Reliable internet connectivity with a minimum upload and download speed of 6 Mbps to support virtual meetings and daily remote work. Benefits: Fully remote work: Work from your home office anywhere in Canada. Competitive performance rewards: Access to a tiered quarterly bonus program based on performance. Career development: Opportunities for professional growth and annual performance-based salary increases. Comprehensive healthcare: Fully paid health, dental, and vision benefits, plus access to virtual healthcare services. Additional paid time off: Fridays off during July and August, as well as a paid holiday shutdown in December. Equipment provided: Receive a new laptop and the necessary equipment to perform your role effectively. Collaborative workplace culture: Join a supportive, inclusive, and low-ego team that values open communication, respect, and shared problem-solving. Opportunity to influence improvements: Contribute ideas to enhance workflows, introduce new tools, and shape team practices.
