Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Quality Specialist based in Canada. We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Specialist to help ensure school photography images and customer data meet high standards of accuracy, consistency, and presentation. In this seasonal, fully remote role, you will review and edit photographs before they are delivered to students, families, schools, and graduates. You will be responsible for maintaining consistent image cropping, positioning, lighting, and subject information across photographers and regions. By identifying and correcting issues before delivery, you will help reduce remakes, protect customer privacy, and improve the overall customer experience. You will also collaborate with photography and training teams to address recurring quality issues and strengthen workflows. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and balancing quality with seasonal deadlines.

Image Editing and Quality Control: Review and edit photographs to ensure correct cropping, centering, head sizing, and positioning according to established standards. Remove backgrounds and correct glass glare where necessary. Image Review: Confirm that unsuitable images are removed from customer galleries before delivery and ensure the final image collection meets quality expectations. Lighting and Brand Consistency: Evaluate lighting consistency across photographers working on the same assignment and report lighting or calibration issues to the photography team. Data Accuracy and Management: Verify that each subject has the correct primary image, confirm student and staff classifications, and check that names are properly formatted and email addresses are entered for graduates. Privacy and Compliance: Identify and separate combined files to ensure each subject receives only their own images. Verify photography opt-outs before jobs are activated and handle student and customer information responsibly. Quality Documentation: Complete the required quality control checklist for every job before marking it complete, ensuring all necessary checks have been performed. Photography Team Support: Provide clear, constructive feedback to photographers about recurring issues and document examples of excellent work and opportunities for improvement. Training and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with photography training teams to identify skill gaps, refine quality standards, and improve training materials and checklists. Performance and Turnaround: Review assigned jobs within established turnaround times, manage high-volume seasonal workloads, track recurring errors by photographer, region, and job type, and recommend improvements to editing and data verification workflows. Requirements: Education: High school diploma required. Postsecondary education in photography, digital imaging, graphic design, or a related field is preferred. Relevant Experience: 1–2 years of experience in photo editing, retouching, quality control, or production, preferably in school photography or high-volume photography environments. Editing Tools: Working knowledge of photo editing software and image management systems. Visual Quality Assessment: A strong eye for detail, particularly in image cropping, head size, positioning, lighting, and color consistency. Data Accuracy: High levels of accuracy when entering, reviewing, and validating records and subject information. Communication: Ability to provide clear, constructive, and respectful feedback to photographers and colleagues. Time Management: Ability to handle large volumes of work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines during peak seasonal periods while maintaining quality standards. Privacy Awareness: Understanding of the importance of protecting student and customer information and ensuring images are correctly assigned. Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to perform the role from within Canada. Flexibility: Willingness to occasionally work weekends when business needs require it; equivalent weekday time off will be provided. Benefits: Remote Work: Work remotely from within Canada. Seasonal Opportunity: Fixed-term seasonal employment with an anticipated start date of November 2, 2026, or sooner, and an anticipated end date between March and April 2027. Work-Life Balance: No overtime is expected, although occasional weekend work may be required. Equivalent weekday time off will be provided for weekend work. Collaborative Environment: Work alongside photography, quality, and training teams to improve image standards and customer outcomes. Professional Development: Gain practical experience in image quality assurance, digital imaging workflows, data validation, and continuous improvement. Meaningful Impact: Help deliver accurate, consistent photographs to schools, families, students, and graduates while contributing to a positive customer experience.
