Responsibilities & complete job details

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Community Engagement based in the United States. This remote leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing a national community engagement and peer-to-peer fundraising strategy. You will oversee programs supporting hundreds of community fundraising events while helping expand congregational and community-based fundraising efforts. The position combines strategic fundraising leadership, team development, partnership building, volunteer engagement, and revenue growth. You will work across fundraising, marketing, communications, and CRM functions to strengthen donor acquisition and create scalable engagement strategies. A key focus will be developing corporate partnerships and using community events as opportunities to cultivate donors and support major-gift development. You will lead and develop a Community Engagement team while working with senior leadership and external consultants to advance strategic priorities. The role is well suited to an experienced nonprofit fundraising leader who can balance strategic thinking, relationship building, operational execution, and people leadership.

Develop and implement a national strategic plan for peer-to-peer fundraising, establishing short- and long-term priorities that strengthen community engagement and contribute to revenue goals. Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the Community Engagement team, including Community Engagement Managers and Specialists, while overseeing hiring, onboarding, performance management, training, and professional development. Partner with senior fundraising leadership to use community event programs as a pipeline for major-gift development, including identifying high-value prospects, engaging sponsors, and cultivating donor relationships. Create and oversee a national corporate engagement strategy for community fundraising events, building partnerships that expand participation, sponsorship, and fundraising opportunities. Manage relationships with external consultants supporting national peer-to-peer fundraising strategy and ensure their work aligns with organizational priorities. Lead the development of external event resources, including print materials, email communications, downloadable resources, and other tools that equip communities and volunteers for successful fundraising campaigns. Collaborate with Individual Giving, Congregational Strategy, Marketing, CRM, and broader fundraising leadership teams to integrate fundraising streams, identify cross-selling opportunities, and strengthen donor acquisition. Provide operational leadership for new fundraising product launches, supporting implementation, coordination, and adoption across relevant teams. Consult with community leaders to identify, recruit, and equip volunteers while strengthening relationships with diverse community constituencies. Participate in communications and content review, campaign strategy, and new-product development initiatives related to fundraising events and community partnerships. Use fundraising data, CRM insights, industry practices, and performance results to identify opportunities for innovation, improve processes, and strengthen team and program outcomes. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required, along with 8–10 years of proven related professional experience and at least five years of supervisory experience. Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience, with a strong track record of managing, coaching, and motivating teams. Expertise in nonprofit peer-to-peer fundraising practices and principles, with experience developing strategies that increase participation, engagement, and revenue. Proven project management capabilities, including the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, stakeholders, projects, and deadlines effectively. Strong public speaking, writing, persuasive communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse constituencies. Strategic and creative problem-solving mindset, with demonstrated ability to innovate, identify opportunities, and translate ideas into effective programs. Experience with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making, combined with strong attention to detail and the ability to use information to guide fundraising strategy. Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated and disciplined in a fully remote environment while also collaborating effectively across teams. Experience working or volunteering in a multicultural, ecumenical, or interfaith environment is required. Previous experience managing volunteers is strongly preferred. Flexibility and adaptability when working in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and competing deadlines. Benefits: Annual base salary of $75,200–$94,000 . 403(b) retirement plan. Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Generous paid time off, including 18 paid days , increasing to 24 days after two years . 14 official holidays . 12 sick days , accrued monthly.
